Stretching
What is stretching?
Stretching is the process of positioning the body/body parts in a way that lengthens muscles and corresponding connective tissue.
Stretching is a cumulative process. This means it needs to be done consistently, over time, to see results and feel better. It is likely you will feel better after a session, however, consistency is key in seeing lasting results.
Why should we stretch?
We feel better. It helps us move better. It’s something that we do because it’s a crucial requirement of what our body needs to stay mobile.
As we get older, our muscles and connective tissues tighten. This decreases our range of motion, center of balance, impacts daily activities like sleep, and makes it harder to do the things we enjoy.
What to expect during your first session
Wear comfortable, stretchy/athletic clothing.
Bring a fresh pair of socks to wear.
Drink plenty of of water 24-hrs before the session.
The session is in a room with gentle lights and music.
Sessions are either 60- or 90-minutes.
Stretching benefits can include:
Maintains and increases our range of motion
Improved muscle strength
Reduces stiffness
Increase blood flow throughout our muscles and connective tissue, accelerating the healing and growth process
Decreases back pain
Decreases muscle soreness
Helps reduce and manage stress
Improved posture and joint alignment
Improves sleep quality
